Antidotes in Action


LEP is a leading ally in the Localism movement, an innovative approach to sustainable economic development and community vibrancy. A nascent fiscally sponsored project of the New World Foundation, in 2013 LEP was refining its ambitious mission and value proposition.

While it had a number of strengths, some also posed challenges: its innovation could be off-putting to sometimes conservative local communities. Their dual role as a nonprofit and funder could have perceived conflicts. Their ultimate aim of individual behavioral and systemic change could take decades of hard work.

We spent months diving deep into their work to craft a brand strategy, refine their narrative and messaging, and outline a communications plan. LEP has since become an outsized, influential presence in the food and farming system of New York’s Hudson Valley, the nexus of the largest food market in the country.
